·This paper aims at assessing the fracture behavior, which occurs under the fatigue load of mode 1 at DCB specimen in CFRP with laminate angle bonded by adhesive. The fatigue experiments were carried out with the specimens of three laminate angles of 30º,45º and 60º by endowing unique characteristics to each of the specimen by applying fiber laminate angle.BOND AND SPLICE BEHAVIOR OF HIGH MODULUS CFRPCFRP splice plate was the primary mode of failure for the tested joints. The research also indicated that the use of a reverse tapered joint configuration can significantly increase the splice joint capacity. The findings indicate that careful detailing can significantly increase the capacity of bonded CFRP splice joints.KEYWORDS
Apr 02,2014·Strengthening of steel structures with adhesively bonded carbon fiberreinforced polymer (CFRP) laminates (or plates) has received extensive research attention over the past few years.Existing studies have revealed that debonding of CFRP plates from a steel substrate is one of the main failure modes in such CFRP-strengthened steel structures. To better understand and model debonding failures, the behavior ofBond Behavior of CFRP-to-Steel Bonded Joints at Mild Dec 06,2020·This paper presents a series of tests where carbon FRP (CFRP)-to-steel bonded joints are subjected to elevated temperatures. The outcomes of this paper showed that,at elevated temperatures, the dominant failure mode of the CFRP-to-steel bonded joints isBond Behavior of Wet-Bonded Carbon Fiber-Reinforced The use of carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) composite materials to strengthen concrete structures has become popular in coastal regions with high humidity levels. However, many concrete structures in these places remain wet as a result of tides and wave-splashing,so they cannot be completely dried before repair. Therefore,it is vital to investigate the effects of moisture on the
Czaderski (2012) showed that the failure mode in prestressed FRP-to-concrete is a mixed mode I/II failure. It was found that out-of-plane deformations are of the most interest in prestress force-release tests.Relative out-of-plane deformations of the strip with respect to the concrete substrate is called separation.Load-separation behavior of the release end on FRP strip is depicted in Figure 3.CENTER FOR INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEERING STUDIESThe used of CFRP composites has distinct advantages over the use of conventional steel plate in terms of many physical characteristics and provides the designer with a unique freedom of designs. However,CFRP is lineally elastic up to its failure and does not exhibit plastic yielding as steel does. This linear elastic behavior could lead toCarbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer and Epoxy AdhesiveNevertheless Massimiliano 23,Hassein 8,Kim 1,among other researchers observed that when fastening CFRP to a steel element the failure occurs at the adhesive-steel interface. The failure mode when strengthen a concrete beam could be shear failure, flexural failure and FRP debonding,as observed Aram 7 and Mohammed 22.Therefore,when using
For samples of CFRP fabric, only the F2 samples with HD adhesive had this mode of failure, due to the high density of the adhesive.Regarding the AE results of samples with a failure mode D (wood breakage),hits of groups 1 and 2 had a similar pattern for all samples, without a clear distinction between HD and LD adhesives. The number of hitsCited by 2Publish Year 2020Author Muhammad Akhsin Muflikhun,Muhammad Akhsin Muflikhun,Ryo Higuchi,Tomohiro Yokozeki,Takahira Aoki CODE LAYUPS NAME OF ADHESIVES THICKNESS (MM) Note P 4 0.7 No SPCC H [SPCC/00] S 2.25 CFRP-SPCC wit A [SPCC/3 M/00] S AF-163-2K from 3 M Scotch 2.4 Adhesive placed B [SPCC/Ep/00] S Epoxy hardener XNR and X 2.3 6 rows on sciencedirectThe evaluation of failure mode behavior of CFRP/Adhesive Abstract. The failure mode behavior and the mechanical performance in terms of stress-strain of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic - Steel Plate Cold Commercial (CFRP-SPCC) hybrid thin laminates are investigated in this study through axial tensile and flexural tests.Four different adhesives were used.Materials were characterized using Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) and Fourier-transformCited by 2Publish Year 2020Author Muhammad Akhsin Muflikhun,Muhammad Akhsin Muflikhun,Ryo Higuchi,Tomohiro Yokozeki,Takahira AokiComposites Part B Engineering Vol 185,15 March 2020 The evaluation of failure mode behavior of CFRP/Adhesive/SPCC hybrid thin laminates under axial and flexural loading for structural applications Muhammad Akhsin Muflikhun,Ryo Higuchi,Tomohiro Yokozeki,Takahira Aoki

AbstractIntroductionExperimentalResults and DiscussionConclusionsData AvailabilityAuthors ContributionsAcknowledgmentsThe effectiveness of load transfer in the CFRP-adhesive-concrete system highly relies on the integrity of the interfacial bond between adhesive layer and concrete. In the present paper, the effects of water immersion on the mode I fracture energy of the adhesion between CFRP adhesive and concrete were investigated experimentally and numerically.Four-point bending test was conducted to measure the mode I fracture energy of the interfacial layer between adhesive and concrete. The moisture content disSee more on hindawi(PDF) Mode II fracture toughness of asymmetric metal The four MO used were compared in terms of their load-displacement responses, failure patterns, and SERR performances.2 Experimental methods 2.1 The metal-composite adhesive joint We investigate the mode II fracture toughness of the adhesive joint shown in Figure 1,whose both titanium and CFRP adherents are very thin.Effects of elevated temperatures on mechanical behavior of First, the glass transition behavior and mechanical properties of four distinct epoxy adhesives subjected to elevated temperatures were studied via dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) and tensileFatigue Crack Propagation Behavior of RC Beams Jan 01,2017·As many studies [16,17] show, interface debonding is the main failure mode of the RC beams strengthened with FRP under static and cyclic loading.Moreover,hot-wet environment has a significant influence on bonding behavior of the CFRP-concrete interface [6,18].
